Life’s titanic crossings, in harmony.

Get Tickets

Before Dr. Boers takes some members of your Symphony Tacoma Voices heads to Ireland this July, we're giving our hometown the first listen! Titanic Crossings is our bon voyage concert, the full tour program sung here before it travels to Belfast. That's where the Titanic was built, and it's where we'll sing alongside Irish conductors and choirs, including the Belfast Philharmonic Chorus.

The crossings we sing about are the big ones in everyday life: facing a hard challenge, moving across town or across an ocean, leaving one home for another, becoming someone new. You'll hear songs from the American Songbook alongside new music from Ireland.

The Vibe

Here’s what this concert feels like, who it’s right for, and what to bring with you.

Type of Evening

This concert works well as:

  • A great first choral concert, if you’ve never heard a choir sing live
  • An evening of familiar American standards and brand-new music from Ireland
  • A night for anyone who has ever packed up and started over

What to Expect

From your seat, you can expect:

  • Songs from the American Songbook you may know by heart
  • Modern Irish choral music you probably haven’t heard yet
  • Songs about the big crossings in life: moving, migrating, starting fresh

Come With

To get the most out of the night, bring:

  • Someone who has made a big move of their own
  • A friend with Irish roots (or just Irish curiosity)
  • Your best bon voyage wishes for the choir
